Imagine two Westerners.
The first is a top corporate executive. His motto is: "Everything can be bought, everything can be sold, everything has a price." He writes pompous press releases, demands KPIs, counts every cent, and sincerely believes that the world rests on transactions.
The second is an ordinary developer. He writes code, posts it on GitHub under an open license, answers questions on Stack Overflow at night, helps strangers in Telegram chats, and never charges for these hours.
Question: How do these two people coexist in the same economic system? Why does a developer who could sell every line of code give it away for free? And what does this say about our profession?
Let's dig into this. Without illusions, but with respect for paradoxes.

"Code. Text." "Reality" is a podcast by Vitaly Chuyakov. All texts and ideas here are mine. I write, reflect, and gather material. And to make the conversations lively, I use NotebookLM to generate dialogue. This is how technology helps me talk to you about what matters most.
